WHEN IT SIZZLES (2013)

Remastered version of 'When it Sizzles'! Originally released 9/2/13. I started really experimenting with beat structure and song structure. Why does every beat have to end where it started? Why does every song have to be 3 16 bar verses plus repetitive hooks? We can literally do whatever we want, so that’s what I set to do starting here! A good example is “Blood on my Palms” which is an adaptation of Jesus’ crucifixion as a love story. Also, why rap all the time, why not sing? When you have a unique voice you might as well use it. This is a strongly influenced European vibe. I was listening to a few German bands at the time, as well as doing work with the French group THEMBI, plus a couple other French artists, and it spilled over. There’s only 2 albums I’m on the cover of; this & SISMO, and coincidentally both have Mexico monuments on em. Stand outs include "Belladonna" an electronically dream driven story of a German affair, "Zef'd" an African pride anthem, "Pump Action Pimp" a GTA 3 inspired romp through hazy Paris, and "Sao Paulo Blues" a Brazilian protest against human rights abuses! The finished version of "Dia de los Muertes", a song I made in high school es aqui! It still sizzles 🔥🔥
